為什麼猴子硬要上梅花鹿

有人在日本屋久島(Yakushima)觀察到一隻日本公猴(Japanese macaque, Macaca fuscata yakui)試著上一隻母的梅花鹿(sika deer, Cervus nippon yakushimae)，雖然說猴子本來沒事就會騎在鹿背上，但這是這隻公猴射惹。科學家說這種情況並不常見，有也是找近親(species)，不會跨種類(interspecies)，這種超越種族的~~，稱作 heterospecies sexual behaviour 或是稱 "reproductive interference" (沒有進去)[註*]。


原論文提了出現這個情形的幾個可能，一種是那隻公猴在學習做愛(learn how to copulation)，但是說這不太可能，因為要學也是看其他猴子的交配來學習。再來就是認錯種類(incomplete species recognition)， 但這通常是出現在較相近的種類，例如猩猩和猴子，而不是差的有點遠的鹿和猴子 orz。

科學家認為會出現這種情形，比較有可能是因為公猴在自己的族群裡找不到母猴要跟他做愛，所以只好找其他種族，通常出現在競爭激烈的社群裡，例如母猴較少。而在屋久島的猴子社群裡，這隻公猴似乎屬於是邊緣人..... 嗯，邊緣猴的那群。（幫 QQ）
